Professional Experience

Dr. Julietha Tibyesiga is a dedicated public health professional with over six years of experience in health promotion and advocacy. Currently serves as a Member of the International Public Health Diplomacy Advisory Group at the University of Memphis, Program Officer for the National School Health and Nutrition Programme at the Ministry of Health, Tanzania, and Executive Secretary of the Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA).

Holds an MD from MUHAS and a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership in Public Management from Boise State University, with core interests in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) and Global Health Diplomacy (GHD). Contributes to key national adolescent health documents and programs.

In recognition of her contributions and leadership potential, Dr. Tibyesiga was selected for two fellowships in 2024: the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship and the Young Women Leadership Program under CARE International. She is also a YOCAB Alumna (COHORT 2 2021) under the Tanzania Health Summit.

She is deeply committed to developing and implementing evidence-based policies and programs that prioritize the health and well-being of adolescents and youth, both in Tanzania and globally. Dr. Tibyesiga is passionate about fostering international collaboration, advancing public health knowledge exchange, strengthening leadership in the health sector, and promoting capacity building for a more equitable and inclusive healthcare system.
