🆕➡️ MEWATA WALK FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS 2025

MEWATA's 'Walk of Hope'

The Medical Women’s Association of Tanzania (MEWATA) proudly hosted its annual “Walk of Hope” for breast cancer awareness on Saturday, October 25th, 2025. The event commenced from the Aga Khan Hospital parking lot, drawing an incredible turnout of medical professionals, survivors, supporters, and members of the public. All united with a common goal: to spread awareness, promote early detection, and stand in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.

The vibrant walkathon was more than just a physical activity; it was a powerful movement filled with hope and determination. Participants, adorned in pink—the universal color for breast cancer awareness—carried messages of encouragement and vital information about self-examination and routine screenings. The event emphasized that “early detection saves lives” and aimed to dismantle the stigma and fear often associated with the disease.

The day was further energized by free health check-up stations, where volunteers offered basic consultations and educational materials. MEWATA’s leadership expressed profound gratitude to all participants and partners, reinforcing their ongoing commitment to community health initiatives. The 2025 Walk of Hope not only raised significant awareness but also strengthened the collective resolve to combat breast cancer across Tanzania, one step at a time.

A Resounding Success in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

There are five areas that we encourage CMOs to look at. The first is, what are my future-back platforms that will lead growth for the next 5 to 10 years? Taking today’s profit pools and forecasting them present forward just won’t capture the level of disruption that’s impacting these industries.

“There are no shortcuts to making an impact. It is the result of community, shared commitment, and walking step by step towards a common goal.”
