In her address, Hon. Prof. Mahanga highlighted the critical role of innovation in overcoming geographical and resource barriers in healthcare. She emphasized the need for strategic partnerships to leverage technology, stating, “The integration of digital health tools is no longer an option but a necessity. MEWATA’s leadership is vital in driving this change, ensuring that women and children in even the most remote areas of Tanzania have access to quality medical advice and services.” She called for collaborative efforts to scale up telemedicine initiatives and digital health literacy programs.

The AGM in Arusha saw robust participation from members across the Northern Zone and beyond, including dedicated members from Kilimanjaro, Manyara, and Tanga regions. The presence of both long-standing founders and many new, young medical professionals fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, focusing on practical strategies for implementing the theme. The event served as a pivotal platform for networking, learning, and setting a collaborative agenda to harness technology for the advancement of women’s and children’s health in Tanzania.
