The MEWATA AGM 2024, held on April 21st, 2024, at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Dar es Salaam, focused on the theme "Pioneering Women and Children’s Health through Partnerships for a Prosperous Society." The event was graced by the presence of the Honorable Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Dr. DOROTHY Gwajima, who attended as the Chief Guest.

During the AGM, Hon. Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, highlighted the persistent challenges posed by harmful cultural practices that impede the progress of women and children in society. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between MEWATA and the ministry to address these practices, particularly in providing support services to victims of gender-based violence. She also underscored the need to establish women's centers and counseling facilities for survivors to combat these challenges effectively.

The AGM also saw the participation of many of MEWATA's previous leaders, founding members, and members from various regions of Tanzania. Their presence contributed to a rich exchange of ideas and experiences, fostering an inspiring and productive atmosphere. The event provided valuable learning opportunities for the leaders and all members, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration and innovation in advancing women and children's health in Tanzania.
